Ad Blockers and Embedded Videos
The Issue
Google Chrome's built-in ad blocker can mistakenly identify the Convert tracking script as an "ad." When this happens, Chrome blocks embedded videos from third-party providers like YouTube or Vimeo, treating them as intrusive or misleading ad content.
Why It Happens
Chrome automatically blocks ads it classifies as annoying or intrusive. In some cases, it incorrectly associates the Convert tracking script with these ads, which causes embedded video elements on the page to be hidden or blocked.
The Chrome Setting
The relevant setting is located at:
Settings → Privacy and security → Additional content settings → Intrusive ads
"Ads are blocked on sites known to show intrusive or misleading ads"
What You Can Do
- Verify the issue by temporarily disabling Chrome's intrusive ads setting and checking if the videos reappear
- This is a Chrome classification issue, not a Convert bug — Convert's tracking script does not serve ads
- If your site is flagged, you can request a review through Google's Ad Experience Report
