Tracking Script v1.5.4

New Features and Improvements

  • Prevent Unintended Test Participation

    • We've tightened up how tests involve participants. Visitors who should not have been included in a test will remain excluded on all pages, ensuring more accurate visitor and conversion counts. This means your data might show fewer participants and conversions, reflecting a more precise audience. If your test includes everyone, you won't see any changes.
  • Accurate Conversion Counting for Page-Linked Goals

    • We're improving how we track conversions triggered by clicks, especially when those clicks also change page addresses. This update ensures conversions are counted accurately, which may increase the reported conversion counts for certain goals. Past data remains unchanged, so you'll see a clear difference from this update onward.
  • More Reliable Goal Records on Single-Page Sites

    • Conversions have always counted once per visitor for each goal, and this rule has not changed. This update fixes a rare case on single-page sites. A visitor's goal record, stored in their browser, could be cleared when the page address changed without a full reload. If that visitor later returned in a new session and completed the same goal, it could be counted a second time. In the same rare case, a goal record from one test could also stop a real conversion from counting in another test the visitor was part of. Both cases are now fixed. Past data is unchanged.

Remember, there's nothing you need to do on your end—everything continues to run smoothly without any required adjustments to your tests, goals, or setup.
